We all know that (some) humans have eaten snakes. Myself for one, have had plenty of snake’s soup in Hong Kong. It’s actually quite nice, and you should try it yourself. You won’t even know there’s snake in it.

There are many claims on the Internet of large pythons eating humans, and the vast majority of them are indeed fake. This one, however, is deemed to be authentic. The condition of the mans’ fingers and discolouration of his torso also supports the events.
I personally watched an African Rock python constrict and swallow a large impala while I was on safari with a group of friends. Our guide told us that this python was by no means the largest specimen he’d seen, and that people – mainly children/teenagers – had disappeared from the townships, and after tracking their movements, found evidence that they had been taken by a python, though the vast majority of those people killed by wild animals had been taken by lions.
It’s sad and unneccessary that the pythons are killed in these cases as, we were told that if you harras a snake of this size that has a large meal in it’s stomach, it will almost always regurgitate the unfortunate animal (or in this case, a person).
Lastly, we were told that once these pythons catch their prey, they kill the captured animal within a minute so at least he didn’t suffer the fate of being swallowed alive.
