5 students suspended after hazing incident
Filed under Weird

Smack!

Five students from Whitman-Hanson Regional High School were suspended this week after a freshman student was taped to a bench and punched in the groin during a bizarre hazing incident, school officials said yesterday.

School Superintendent John F. McEwan said four sophomores and a junior decided Jan. 17 to pull a prank on a freshman after school in the boys’ locker room.

At the time, between 2 and 2:15 p.m., the students were preparing for sports, and the locker room was unsupervised, McEwan said.

The students first grabbed a freshman, held him down, and started teasing him, McEwan said.

“That student got away,” he said.

The group then went after another freshman, who, at first, was laughing as well, McEwan said.

“The student was brought into the locker room, his sweatshirt was pulled over his head,” he said. “They taped him to a bench using medical tape. One person sat on him. They were teasing him. Ultimately, one boy punched him in the groin. Up to that point, the boy had been laughing and joking with him.”

But after being punched in the groin once or twice, the freshman began to cry and was let go. He did not require medical attention, McEwan said.

After parents called the office to complain, school officials interviewed 19 students who were around the locker room at the time. McEwan said police were informed. It was determined that it was a hazing incident, and the five students involved were each given a five-day suspension, McEwan said.

“It is unacceptable behavior, and they had to be disciplined appropriately,” he said. The parents of the victim were satisfied with the punishment and decided they did not want charges pressed, McEwan said.

Boy who gets scared kills 443 chickens.

Chicken

Hundreds of chickens have been found dead in east China — and a court has ruled that the cause of death was the screaming of a four-year-old boy who in turn had been scared by a barking dog, state media reported on Wednesday.

The bizarre sequence events began when the boy arrived at a village home in the eastern province of Jiangsu in the summer with his father who was delivering bottles of gas, the Nanjing Morning Post reported.

A villager was quoted as saying the little boy bent over the henhouse window, screaming for a long time, after being scared by the dog.

“One neighbour told police that he had heard the boy’s crying that afternoon and another villager confirmed the boy screaming by the henhouse window,” the newspaper said.

A court ruled the boy’s screaming was “the only unexpected abnormal sound” and that 443 chickens trampled each other to death in fear.

The boy’s father was ordered to pay 1,800 yuan ($230) in compensation to the owner of the chickens.

Mother arrested for organising booze party

Sherry Herzner organised an alcohol party for her 15 year old daughter

Meet Sherry Herzner. The Kentucky woman, 31, is facing criminal charges for allegedly arranging an alcohol-soaked slumber party for her 15-year-old daughter and six of the girl’s friends. According to police, underage attendees were told to bring $5 to the party, which occurred last Friday at Herzner’s Newport home. According to a police report, a copy of which you can find here, Herzner used the money to purchase vodka, which she served to her minor guests. Investigators learned of the boozing when one of the guests called her mother in tears and asked to be picked up from Herzner’s apartment. When the woman realized that her daughter, 14, had been drinking, she called cops. Officers responding to Herzner’s residence found the woman to be “highly intoxicated” and detected the odor of alcohol on the young partygoers, all of whom were tested and found to have alcohol in their systems. Herzner was charged with seven misdemeanor counts of unlawful transaction with a minor. Pictured below in a mug shot, Herzner was also hit with a failure to appear charge in connection with an unrelated court matter.

Damn, look at her. Whatever she did… I wonder what her daughter looks like…

Man arrested for dismembering sister… sliced off her breasts
Filed under Weird

Yuki Muto leaves a police station on Friday before being sent to prosecutors

A man under arrest for dismembering the body of his sister sliced off her hair and breasts in an apparent attempt to hide his victim’s gender, said police.

Yuki Muto, 21, from Tokyo’s Shibuya-ku, told officers that he disposed of the breasts by putting them in the garbage disposal in his kitchen sink.

Muto is under arrest for slicing the body of his 20-year-old sister Azumi into more than 10 separate parts, mostly at the joints. He put the other body parts into four plastic bags and hid them in his room.

“I was planning to get rid of (the bags) later,” Muto was quoted as telling police.

Muto also admitted to Azumi’s murder. “I hit her on the head and she passed out, but then she came round again,” Muto told officers. “So I then strangled her.”

The victim’s lungs contained water, and police suspect that Muto might have strangled or drowned her in a bathtub. (Mainichi)

Smart thinking. She’s definitely not a female anymore.

Parents keep mentally disabled daughter child-size for easier care
Filed under Weird

The parents of a mentally disabled girl have had a Seattle hospital give her treatments to keep her child-size so that she’ll be easier to care for.

Nine-year-old named Ashley recently completed 2 1/2 years of treatments.

The treatments included a hysterectomy, the removal of her breast buds, and a course of estrogen.

KING-TV reports the treatment was approved by the ethics board at Children’s Hospital. Dr. Benjamin Wilfond said the hospital agreed to the treatment to benefit the child.

She has a severe brain impairment called static encephalopathy. She can’t walk or talk. She’s fed through a tube and has the developmental ability of a baby.

Ashley’s parents bring her to Children’s Hospital every three months so that doctors can monitor her height, weight and estrogen levels.

She’s 4-foot-4, weighs 70 pounds and doctors believe she is almost done growing. Without treatments doctors believe she would have grown to 5-foot-5, 125 pounds.

That would have made her too heavy for her caregivers — her parents and grandmother — to lift, move and bathe her.

Is that actually legal? To be honest I would have rather put her to rest than to strip the little that’s left of her.
