Look closely and you will see the bear’s nose and lower lip pressed up against a glass barrier. You will also notice the base of the barrier running along between the bear and the kid. Polars can be very aggressive. Fortunately, there is a barrier between the nanook and the kid! (I hate seeing these magnificent creatures in captivity even though I realize it’s necessary, and probably all the more so as their natural habitat dwindles and their survival as a species becomes ever more questionable.)
