An angry Deltona father whacked his teenage daughter’s boyfriend with a metal pipe after finding the boy naked in his daughter’s room. Authorities say the father, 45, didn’t even know his daughter had a boyfriend or that the youngster had been sneaking into the home for more than a year.

When he heard noises coming from his daughter’s bedroom Thursday morning and saw a stranger standing naked on the girl’s bed, he swung a metal pipe. He then chased the teen out the front door and called police.

The boy was taken to the hospital where doctors closed a head wound with staples.

The father was charged with aggravated battery on a child and bonded out on $10,000.

The website features a publicly accessible search tool. Previously, membership had been required to download more than 3 torrents per week or to download torrent files older than a few days.

I currently run Microsoft Windows Vista Business, with Internet Explorer 7 (7.0.6001.18000). I’ve been using IE7 since its beta stage (on Windows XP to begin with) and have never had this problem… After I upgraded to Windows Vista, I’ve noticed serious memory leak / problems with the browser.

IE has been running for about 3 hours. In total, I’ve opened (and closed) between 30 – 40 tabs. Then suddenly, when inspired to check the news online, my computer started to feel extremely sluggish… So I opened up task manager, expecting to see IE7 eating up all my resources as I’ve seen before. And that’s exactly what I found.

Good lord, what is going on? So I closed IE, and waited several seconds for the system to free up some memory. Then restarted IE7 to write this entry.

As far as I can see, it seems to be a problem with AJAX (as I’ve noticed IE7 feasting on my memory most often after I’ve been on Facebook and other AJAX websites), and after some digging, found:
http://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/ViewFeedback.aspx?FeedbackID=105535, which seems to be a bug Microsoft refuses to address. I have also tried running IE in safe mode, or without any add-ons but to no avail.

Speaking of which, I currently have one IE7 window opened, running for less than 20 minutes with 6 tabs running… And memory usage has jumped to 144MB. What?!

I really do want to stick with IE7, and doubt I’ll ever fully convert to an alternative such as Firefox, as it’s just not to my taste. I don’t wish to turn this post into a IE7 vs. Firefox debate, but am really needing a solution!

So, has anyone else found they also have this problem? I would love to hear any advice anyone has on fixing this!

Despite seeing beggars / drunks / homeless people / druggies on every corner of most ‘lower-class’ places in Hong Kong, I’m surprised to say I haven’t seen a single in the streets of England. Call me a beggar too, but I don’t think I’ve ever donated a cent / dollar / chip / knife to one of these chaps; nope, not even when with a girl I’m trying to impress.

Regardless, if one feels they must donate, they should not donate money but instead:

Cigarettes. Ease their pain a little, with a nice stick of nicotine.

A bottle of Tequila. Again, being homeless is hard. Get your fellow homeless man a bottle of Tequila, have a shot with him and enjoy the sun. If you give him / her money, they’re going to ask for more so that they can take a bus to the nearest liquor store. And because you just spent your last bit of change buying Tequila, you won’t have any spare for his / her bus ride. And you don’t want to have an argument with a highly-regarded homeless man / woman (with a knife)

A knife. Homeless people always get robbed. They have a big hat full of coins, and are usually too weak to defend themselves. Thus they become an easy target. Give them a knife, and they can just about fend off attackers without making as much noise as guns.

KFC. KFC solves everything. What came first? The chicken or the egg? The Colonel did and made KFC. Give the homeless person a bucket of fresh juicy KFC, and the world is your Oyster.

A Blackberry with a one year subscription. We’re all about that business. What makes a homeless man any different? He’s out on the streets doing his business too and making money like everyone else. Give him a Blackberry and help ease his business-related stress a little.

Condoms (homeless males only). It’s time to all help in preventing the spread of HIV. Give your homeless friend a pack of condoms. Teach them how to use it too; they’re probably homeless because they never managed to get a proper education, and so probably don’t know how to use a condom.

Maybe I should start carrying a bag with it all the above when going out and trying to impress a girl on our first date.

Wednesday 16th August 2006. A wonderful day indeed. Hit off with a three-hour hike to a beach many would think did not exist in Hong Kong. From here, I spent some quality time with my lady.

Despite Christy applying several layers of sun cream on my body, I ended up being fried… With pretty much all of my body burnt red, including my hands. On the other hand, Christy’s perfectly (not) tanned body remained unharmed.

I wish I could post up many more high quality pictures, just to show the beauty of the beach; but the Internet has too many sick people, including those who take joy in making up “you spammed my website” stories.

Some highlights of the day:

– My cool drink cooling invention made from entirely beach-found equipment. Involved anchoring a bottle onto the seabed and allowing the water to cool it. Despite being an amazing invention, the blazing sun seemed to boil the water, and hence the drink and my body.
– Christy writing a big fat message in the sand for me
– Playing in the waves with Christy
– Releasing a substance known as urine into the sea
– Trying to do flips on flat ground but killign myself instead
– Christy appearing out of the water, with a hair-covered, ugly face
– Watching Christy hike for three hours through mountains wearing her $12,000 4-inch Prada Stilettos (Kidding)
– and many more.

Thanks for being my date and happy 10 months. As you would say, “you’re the best, dude!”.

P.S. Stitch can still kick Doraemon’s butt.

The most valuable part of my website is my domain name. Firstly, it’s super short – it stands at a bold 4 characters long. Secondly, it represents me – I am Timothy Wong. Thirdly, it took me a long time to get it. There’s probably a few more reasons why its so valuable to me, but I guess you now understand how Timothy Wong (I) might have a close emotional bond with timw.com. Alright, enough emotional talk and boasting.

Everyday I dig through around 100 emails, spread across several accounts (personal, business, etc.). Yesterday, one particular email caught my attention. It was sent through this website’s contact form and is as follows (names and emails censored for privacy reasons):

Subject: Contact Form: Offer for domain www.timw.com

Dear Timothy Wong,

I am interested in acquiring your domain, [http://www.timw.com] for US$1000 (One Thousand US Dollars). I understand that you currently have a website under this domain name, but I strongly believe that my offer is sufficient in getting you set with another domain, as well as leaving you with quite a nice sum of cash.

Please let me know what you think ASAP. I am willing to negotiate for the domain in question.

Regards,

I have sold about 6 domain names in my time, but I have never even considered selling timw.com. It doesn’t matter what price you throw at me, timw.com is not available. I’m going to sit on it until I die.

P.S. Please excuse my excessive use of ‘Timothy Wong’ in the first paragraph – I’m trying to increase my search engine ranking for the keyword “Timothy Wong”
